TAKE THE PLUNGE TO UNPLUG

FIVE WAYS TO UNPLUG THIS FALL

Fall is known for its changing leaves, misty nature, harvesting, and back-to-school! It’s a time to wind down from the busyness of the summer months and fall back into our daily habits. It’s a time for cozy sweaters and pumpkin spice lattes as we welcome the cooler weather with open arms. It’s a time to look inward, be present, and take the plunge to unplug.

Below are our five favorite ways to unplug and be present with ourselves and our loved ones.

1. Get outside!

Whether you’re camping, hiking, or going on daily morning walks, getting outside is an easy way to unplug. Fall is one of the most beautiful seasons and we’d be remiss if we didn’t include this recommendation in our list!

2. Read a new book.

It’s time to grab that book that’s been sitting on your nightstand all year and dive in! Not only is reading great for your cognitive skills but it is also known to reduce stress and improve your mental health. Find a nice, quiet space in your house to get lost in your book, or add reading to your daily bedtime routine. Podcasts are great, too!

3. Set up weekly friend dates.

Schedules can get crazy, even when times slow down. Start a group chat with your friends and schedule weekly friend dates. Some ideas include board game nights, dinner at new restaurants in your city you want to try, at-home wine tastings, and so much more!

4. Cook a new meal with your loved ones.

We know you’ve got recipes pinned from your favorite food bloggers on Instagram and Pinterest, so now’s the time to explore your cooking skills. Pick one new recipe each week that you’ve been craving for you and your loved ones to make together. Bonus points if you cook a meal outside of your culture and comfort zone!

5. Do something that recharges you.

We know it’s hard to step away when you’re at home, but it’s important to take some time for yourself this fall to relax. The best part is that relaxing looks different for everyone and can range from yoga to sweats and binge-watching Netflix to a bubble bath and a glass of Plungerhead wine to a multi-masking session with candles and journaling while locked in your room, or even just some alone time in a quiet house – the sky is the limit!

Now that you’ve read through our five recommendations, are you ready to take the plunge to unplug? We promise it’s easier than it sounds!
